Toxic: Yash Looks Like Rocky Meets Animal — Trailer Review, BY - RAJANI KANT
I watched the
Toxic trailer expecting a big
Yash action film.
I got that.
But I also got something a little different.
The first thing that hit me was the raw action. It doesn't feel too clean or overly polished. There is a roughness to it that I really liked. Yash looks dangerous, angry and completely in control in some scenes.
But if I had to describe the trailer in one line, I would say:
50% Rocky Bhai. 50% Animal.
And somehow, that combination looks very interesting.
The trailer has the mass and attitude that we have already seen from Yash in KGF. At the same time, there is a darker and more wild side that reminded me of Animal.
But I don't think Toxic is simply trying to copy either film.
It looks like Yash is trying to create something of his own.

The Raw Action Is What Got Me First
Let's talk about the biggest attraction.
The action.
I liked how raw it feels.
There are no shortage of big action moments in Indian cinema these days. Every second film has slow motion, explosions and huge fight sequences.
But Toxic seems to have a little more aggression in its action.
Yash doesn't look like a hero who is simply fighting the bad guys.
He looks like a guy who can become dangerous at any moment.
And honestly, that's the kind of Yash I wanted to see after KGF.
The trailer made me want to see these action scenes properly on the big screen.
That's already a good sign.
50% Rocky. 50% Animal.
This is probably the easiest way for me to explain the trailer.
There is definitely some Rocky Bhai in Yash.
The attitude.
The confidence.
The screen presence.
That feeling that whenever he enters a scene, everyone else suddenly becomes less important.
But there is another side to him.
A darker and more unpredictable side.
That's where I got some Animal vibes.
I'm not saying Toxic is going to be Animal 2.
It isn't.
I'm talking about the mood and the way the character seems to carry himself.
If Geetu Mohandas has managed to bring these two sides together properly, then this could be something special.
And Then There Is The Music
The music is lit.
That's honestly one of my favorite things about the trailer.
It doesn't just play in the background.
It adds to the mood.
When the action starts and the music kicks in, the trailer suddenly feels bigger.
For a film like Toxic, this is very important.
The music needs to create an identity for the film.
And from what I've heard so far, I think they are on the right track.
I can already imagine some of these tracks becoming popular if the movie connects with the audience.
Huma Qureshi Caught My Attention
Yash was obviously going to dominate the trailer.
That's expected.
But the character who really caught my attention apart from Yash was Huma Qureshi.
There is something about her presence that made me curious.
I don't want to guess too much from a trailer, but she doesn't look like someone who has been added just to fill space.
At least that's the impression I got.
I want to see what her character is actually doing in this story.
And honestly, that's one of the questions I want the movie to answer.
Yash Looks Different — But I Have One Problem
Now let's talk about something I didn't like.
Yash's Hindi dialogue delivery.
I didn't feel completely convinced by it.
Maybe it will work better in the full movie. Maybe the context of the scenes will make it feel more natural.
But in the trailer, some of the Hindi dialogues didn't land for me the way they should have.
And this is important because Toxic is expected to reach a huge audience beyond the Kannada-speaking market.
Yash has already proved that he can own the screen without saying much.
So I hope the Hindi version gets the dialogue delivery right.
It's a small concern right now, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on it.
Did The Trailer Make Me Want To Watch The Movie?
Absolutely.
And for me, this is probably the most important thing about any trailer.
A trailer doesn't need to explain the entire movie.
It just needs to make me say:
"Okay, I want to watch this."
Toxic did that.
Actually, it made me more curious because I still don't completely understand where the story is going.
There seems to be family drama, crime, action, mystery and a much darker side to Yash's character.
I want to know how all these pieces come together.
Is This Another KGF?
I don't think so.
And I hope it isn't.
Yash has already given us Rocky Bhai.
Trying to recreate that character again would be the easy option.
Toxic looks like it is taking a different route.
Yes, the mass moments are there.
Yes, Yash still has that larger-than-life presence.
But there is something darker and more unpredictable here.
That is what makes me interested.
Can Toxic Become The ATBB Of 2026?
Now I'm going to make a big prediction.
Yes, I think it has the potential.
I'm not saying it will definitely become an all-time blockbuster.
The movie still has to deliver.
The story has to work.
The second half has to work.
The emotional side has to connect.
And the word of mouth will decide how far it goes.
But looking at the trailer, the ingredients are there.
Yash.
Big action.
Strong music.
Pan-India appeal.
A different-looking story.
Geetu Mohandas.
And most importantly, there is curiosity.
If the movie gets strong reviews and the audience connects with it, I can genuinely see Toxic becoming one of the biggest theatrical successes of 2026.
Maybe even an ATBB.
That's a big call.
But that's my feeling after watching the trailer.
What I Expect From Toxic
I don't want Toxic to be just another film where Yash walks in, beats everyone and walks out.
We've already seen that.
I want the character to have some depth.
I want the family story to matter.
I want Huma's character to have something important to do.
I want the action to feel raw.
And I want the music to stay as powerful in the full movie as it is in the trailer.
If Geetu Mohandas gets these things right, then we could be looking at something much bigger than a normal mass entertainer.

The Toxic trailer worked for me.
The raw action got me first.
The music is already stuck in my head.
Yash gives me a feeling of 50% Rocky and 50% Animal, but there is enough difference to make me curious about what Geetu Mohandas is actually doing with the character.
And Huma Qureshi is one person I'm especially interested in watching.
My only real complaint from the trailer is Yash's Hindi dialogue delivery. I hope that improves in the final film.
Apart from that?
I'm sold.
I want to watch Toxic in theatres.
And I'm going one step further:
CineReview Prediction: Toxic has the potential to become an ATBB of 2026.
Will it actually happen?
We'll have to wait for August 26.
But if the movie delivers what this trailer is promising, Yash could be heading for another massive career high.
